Course Description

There are many barriers affecting patient access to rehab services. The pandemic put a spotlight on these issues. In this course, we explored barriers to patient access and possible solutions via alternate service delivery models as well as the importance of informed decision-making and how to prioritize it when making clinical decisions related to AAC.

  • State changes to patient access since COVID-19 pandemic
  • Identify how LPAA interacts with access barriers
  • Identify appropriate candidates for At Home Training with Lingraphica
  • Name 3 ways Lingraphica is working to mitigate care barriers

Meet the Presenters

Jennifer Hanson, MS, CCC-SLP   

Jennifer joined Lingraphica in 2018.  She has a background in clinical instruction in speech-language pathology at two universities and direct experience treating adult and pediatric bilingual individuals. She holds a B.A. in Spanish and Psychology from Wake Forest University and an M.S. in Speech Language Pathology from The University of Arizona.

Beth  McHose, MS Ed, CCC-SLP 

Beth joined Lingraphica in 2018. She has experience providing speech and language services for the adult population in the acute, rehab, and home health settings. Beth holds a bachelors in English from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Communication Sciences and disorders from Old Dominion University.

Chelsea Zimmerman, MS, CCC-SLP  

Chelsea joined Lingraphica in 2020. With 6 years of experience in speech-language pathology, Chelsea has worked with infants to geriatrics in home health, outpatient centers, clinics, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and most influential the acute hospital setting. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Health Profession Teaching and Technology from The University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed an accelerated Master of Science program in Speech-Language Pathology at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2015.
