Course Description

This course offered a framework for understanding the therapeutic benefits of using a device while diving deeper into the myriad ways Lingraphica AAC devices can be an effective tool for conducting in-session therapy with patients as well as providing autonomous at-home practice. 

Course Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

      • Identify two built-in LPAA centered therapy offerings on the device and use cases
      • State two app based therapy offerings from Lingraphica
      • Identify three traditional therapy techniques and how they can be adapted to use with high tech AAC

Meet the Presenters


Beth  
McHose, MS Ed., CCC-SLP 

Beth joined Lingraphica in 2018. She has experience providing speech and language services for the adult population in the acute, rehab, and home health settings. Beth holds a bachelors in English from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Communication Sciences and disorders from Old Dominion University.

Caitlin  Mueller, MS, CCC-SLP 

Caitlin Mueller joined Lingraphica’s Clinical Consultant Team in 2015. She holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a B.S. in Communication Studies from Utah State University and an M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of the Pacific. She has experience with evaluating and treating clients with a variety of communication impairments using multiple AAC devices and apps.

Stephanie Van Allan, MA CCC-SLP 

Stephanie is a speech-language pathologist with Cleveland Clinic Martin Health at the Raub Rehabilitation Center. She has over 12 years of experience working with adults with neurogenic communication impairments in the outpatient and home-health setting. She holds a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Florida.  Stephanie is also the founder of the non-for-profit The Fitness Mission, and is currently on a research team exploring the impact of Yoga practice on people living with aphasia.
